In 1886, Robert Bosch founded the "Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering" in Stuttgart. It is the root of today's globally active company, which was characterized from the beginning by innovation and social commitment. After a long period of development in 1927, an after-effecting innovation was ready for series production - the diesel injection pump. With this, Bosch reacted to the further development of diesel engines, which, unlike gasoline engines, did not need a magneto ignition. Initially used only in trucks, the first diesel injection pump for cars came onto the market in 1936.
