It was produced from 1964 to 1974 as a panel van used for post service from the state. It was most mainly sold to the German and Swiss post and Lufthansa. It was with 1.3 liters flat four engine with 34 hp, 1192cc, a block heater and disc brakes. It is one of the most rear vehicles with approximately 6 150 produced. It was built from parts from the Karmann Ghia, Transporter Type 2 and Beetle. Westfalia Werke produced them. Fridolin is also known as Volkswagen Type 147 Kleinlieferwagen, which means small van in English. About 200 are preserved. Its length was about four meters, and the height of about two meters.
