Volvo PV 445 Duett was produced between 1949 and 1960 as van, chassis, and estate. It became a basis for future convertibles, vans and small trucks to be created later on. It was with the same mechanicals as PV 444 but with a separate chassis and leaf springs added to the rear wheel suspension. The front was also from PV444. In 1953 the estate and van were introduced. They were used mostly from businesspeople and for carrying stocks. Initially, they were with a four-cylinder engine with 44bhp. In 1956 it was increased to 51bhp and in 1957 substituted with a new four-cylinder engine with 60bhp. They were all with hydraulic brakes and drums on every wheel with three-speed manual transmission with floor-mounted gear level.
