Volvo 480 was produced in the Netherlands between 1986 and 1995 as a coupe with four-seats, front-wheel drive, and three-door hatchback body. It was the first front-wheel drive Volvo, and it was with sports design. It was made with bumpers, for the US market. The platform was the same as that of Volvo 440 and 460 again with an engine from Renault. In 1987 it became available with ABS. In 1988 a turbo was introduced and the hp raised to 118. In 1991 new bumpers and mirrors are upgraded, and a 2 liters aspirated engine was presented. In 1993 2 liters engine with 108 hp and four-speed automatic transmission were offered. Approximately 75 000 were produced in total.
