Volvo 340 (343/345) was produced first as a 3-door hatchback and later also as a 5-door hatchback and 4-door sedan, rear-wheel drive. It was built between 1976 and 1991. In 1985 the models received a facelift. Engines from Renault were taken with 1.4 and 1.7 liters and 63-80hp. In 1985 a diesel 1.6 liters and 56hp were introduced and a 2 liters petrol engine. It was produced in Holland and Sweden and was considered a small-middle class car with a front engine. A van version also entered the market as 5-door and full-body colored with a B14 petrol engine and four-speed manual. In 1981 the bonnet and grille were redesigned.
