Mercedes W120 is inline-four cylinder sedan introduced in 1953, with 1.8 liters M136 engine. It was also known as Mercedes 180. It was with the 55hp engine from Mercedes 170 Sb till 1957, when it was updated with an engine of Mercedes 190. Diesel versions were also produced from 1953 to 1962.
Mercedes W121 was introduced in 1956 with a 1.9-liter engine. It was also known as Mercedes 190.
They accounted for about 80% of the total production of the company from 1953 to 1959. They were the first Mercedes, E-Class. Mercedes W120 and W121 were also used a lot as German taxis. Approximately 440 000 vehicles were created. They were assembled in Australia, South Africa, and Germany.
