W111 sedans were produced between 1959 and 1971, considered as full-size luxury cars. They were with inline six-cylinder inline, 2.2 liters engines. They were with widened and squared cabin from Ponton, rear and front crumple zones and retractable seatbelts, and big glass greenhouse.
220b was with simple hubcaps and basic interior trim and was one of the first models introduced. The models were equipped with M127 straight six with 95hp.
220Sb was with two carburetors and 110hp.
In 1961, 4 cylinders from W110, and M189 six cylinder 3 liters engines were taken for the production on the new models. 2 doors version coupe was also introduced.
In 1975 230S was introduced with M180 engine and two Zenith carburetors and 120hp. Approximately 41 000 were produced and about 335 000 in total W111.
