It is a sports car produced between 1978 and 1981, and it was the first mid-engine car from the brand in mass production. It was offered with a five-speed manual transmission as a 2-door coupe. Some of the parts were made in cooperation with Lamborghini. It was also the only car to be produced by BMW M. The engine was 3.5 liters 3453cc six-cylinder petrol, six throttle bodies, twin-cam four valves and 273hp with Kugelfischer-Bosch fuel injection and Magneti-Marelli ignition system. It was with leather and cloth interior, air-conditioning and stereo. It is one of the rarest BMW, with only about 450 produced. It had participated in several racings and is ranked number 10 top sports car of the 1970s.
