The 6 Series’s first generation was produced from 1976 to 1989, followed by a second generation produced from 2003 to 2010, a third from 2011 to 2018, and a fourth that has been in production since 2017. Initially, they were offered as a two-door coupe and later on as two and four-door convertible and fastback. They were with naturally aspirated inline-six gasoline, inline-four, V10 and V8 engines natural aspirated or turbocharged. Diesel engines with the four-wheel drive were also introduced in the past years. Approximately 246 500 BMW 6 Series vehicles have been produced since 2004.
