It is a luxury car produced between 1952 and 1962. It was the first model released after World War 2 and built in Bavaria. It was also known as Baroque Angel in Germany. It was also the first car with a V8 engine. The platform remained in production until 1963. It was available as two-door coupe and cabriolet and a four-door sedan with four-speed manual transmission. It was with a new platform, live axle and torsion bar springs. The car was also available with M337 engine. The four-speed gearbox was a separate shaft driven unit placed between the second and third cross members. It was costly when launched equally to four yearly average salaries.
