Audi F103 series was produced between the years of 1965 and 1972. The first model was introduced first as Audi and renamed to Audi 72 with 72hp. In 1966 were introduced more powerful versions called Audi 80 and Audi Super 90 followed by Audi 60 in 1968 with a less powerful engine. In 1969 was introduced and Audi 75. In 1972 the production of F103 stopped. They were produced with four-stroke and cylinder engine with front-wheel drive. F103 was the basis for developing Audi 100 and Passat. Mercedes Benz developed the engines for military purposes which were later ceased. They had spiral-formed intake channels and Heron-type combustion chambers. All of the models were offered with four-speed manual transmission, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes. The models were badged according to their horsepowers.
