It was a two-door coupe produced between 1980 and 1988 in Germany. It was offered with front-wheel drive, Quattro permanent four-wheel drive, and longitudinal front engine. It differed from the Quattro with the lack of knife-edged fender flares. The engines available were also naturally aspirate 1.9 liters carburetor petrol engine and 2-2.3 liters fuel-injected inline five-cylinder with front-wheel drive drivetrain. For the first time, 1.6 liters YN engine was offered. Several coupes were available such as Coupe Quattro, Coupe GT, and just Coupe. Coupe GT was produced between 1986 and 1988 with 1.8 liters DZ inline-four and NG five-cylinder 2309 cc and 130hp. In the USA it was sold with a 100hp engine from Audi 5000. In 1984 was launched a version with an enlarged bumper, stainless steel exhausts plastic sill covers and a more massive spoiler. The coupe Quattro was launched mostly with 2.2 liters engines. They badged on the front frill as Quattro. They had some similarities with Ur-Quattro, but a LED bar graph and differential lock switch were added. They also had front brake disks and different spring and damper rates. Approximately 175 000 were produced.'
It is a sporty two-door coupe version based on the third generation of Audi with improved features. In 1991 a facelift was added, and the engine was changed to 2.8 liters V6. In 1992 the engine was adjusted to 2.6 liters V6 and substituted in 1994 with five cylinders 2.3 liters engine. With the 5-cylinder 20V turbo engine change, the production ended in 1996. The vehicles were offered with four-wheel drive, front, and Longitudinal front motor. They were available with both manual and automatic transmission. In 1990 was introduced S2 based on the fourth generation of Audi 80. They were offered in the markets as Audi Coupe 1.8, S2, 16V, 2.8E,20V, 2.3E, 2,0E,2.6E, 2.2E and 1.8.
